Older pets over 7 years of age experience wide variations in health and aging changes including the possibility of developing arthritis, dental disease, heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.  According to the American Veterinary Medical Association studies have shown that as many as 23% of senior dogs and 17% of senior cats that appear healthy have an underlying disease upon physical examination.  Once symptoms appear, the conditions may be much more difficult to manage and treat.  Early detection and treatment ensures a longer, healthier life for your pet. Examining your pet twice a year enables us to divide our preventative screening into two manageable packages.  This will help you plan ahead and shorten the time your pet has to spend at the hospital.
